A climber uses a ladder to cross a crevasse at Everest’s Khumbu Icefall, not far above base camp. Shifting ice exposes new crevasses with little warning, making the Khumbu Icefall the most dangerous section of a southern Everest ascent.
For me that is absolute and unadulterated terror.
Know what? I’m pretty damn adventurous. Up for just about anything. But if asked to do this, I would laugh in your face, slap you, cry, turn around and go home.
Well maybe not, but I sure as fuck wouldn’t be taking a picture while doing it.
